I can understand marketing wanting to jump on to the latest trend, but seriously ? Any 8051 is far too feeble to run any real AI code, so rushing to label things as 'AI' is not so smart.
Now, it seems a whole family of STC8H parts are relabeled as AI8H ? {:5_356:}

There is now mention of a AI8H8K64U-A die revision, when there is no such physical labeled part in the field.

The STC8 name is widely known, and searchable on lcsc, and purchasing departments have part codes already entered.
Distributors will now have to stock new part codes and migrate customers.
